The Voltage Power Optimisation (VPO)® technology saves cost and carbon by optimising the incoming electrical supply voltage.
Not only has the Force cut bills by eight per cent and reduced carbon emissions by some 140,000kg CO2, it is also benefiting from improved business continuity as the unit reduces electrical harmonics and protects against power spikes affecting the building.
Eunice Mabey, Environment & Energy Manager, said: “As well as acting on carbon, Surrey Police has a responsibility to investigate any changes we can make that will reduce overhead costs, helping to protect front line services.
“powerPerfector's VPO is playing a key role in our carbon reduction strategy and has significantly improved the quality of the power going in to HQ.”
Surrey Police joins some leading environmental organisations in installing the best practice technology including DECC, the Environment Agency and WWF.
Ian Gould, Head of Public Sector at powerPerfector said: “Around 90 per cent of organisations could benefit from our technology and in the public sector such savings can help alleviate budgetary pressure.”
