Having established itself as a leading global provider of products, services and solutions to the personal care and household goods sectors, Swallowfield was one of the first companies to be accredited with the environmental management standard, ISO14001, in 2008 and has continued to make significant progress in improving environmental performance – installing powerPerfector's Voltage Power Optimisation (VPO)® units was simply the next logical step.
"Retrofitting equipment onto an established site can be fraught with difficulties; however the whole project went very smoothly. The process was so successful that when a lighting company was subsequently contacted to demonstrate their product, they needed to adjust down their original estimated cost savings."
Philip Reid, Engineering Manager, Swallowfield Plc
Two powerPerfector units were installed at the Wellington site: a 560kVA for the 'Factory Supply' and a 740kVA for the 'Compressor's Supply'. The IPMVP analysis of the data showed that VPO saved, on average, 13.2% for the Factory Supply and 10.2% for the Compressor's Supply equating to a projected annual carbon saving of 252,600kg.
