The nomination in the ‘Energy Efficiency Refurbishment Project’ category reflects the ability of powerPerfector's VPO technology to make substantial energy savings by being retro-fitted into existing electrical systems.
The EA has installed the technology in 33 of its sites across the UK, which will cut its carbon emissions by between 700 to 900 tonnes annually and also reduce energy bills by between £160,000 and £200,000.
With a large number of energy efficiency solutions available and pressure on organisations to accelerate their adoption, the energy efficiency refit sector is thriving, and competition to reach the final was tough. The shortlisting of powerPerfector acknowledges the importance of VPO in this sector.
The refurbishment of the existing building stock in the UK is vital to reducing carbon emissions. To encourage further take up, powerPerfector has recently launched several leasing options for its unique technology.
powerPerfector CEO Angus Robertson said: “Simply being shortlisted is a compliment to the contributions VPO has made so far, having recently reached the milestone of saving our clients a combined one billion kWh of energy.
“The Environment Agency rollout is a great example of an organisation taking a committed approach to tackling rising energy costs and emissions.”
powerPerfector will be competing against five other organisations to win the award.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony taking place on Thursday 1 December 2011 at the Grange St. Paul’s Hotel, London.
