Micro-manage your power supply, British Energy

'Take control of your energy consumption with Voltage OptimisationTM technology'

British Energy

"Many of our customers operate multiple sites with very different energy usage profiles. All of them are facing the twin pressures of volatile energy costs. We have partnered with powerPerfector Voltage OptimisationTM technology, that can help you reduce your electricity consumption and therefore costs and emissions."

John Winters Line of Business Manager

powerPerfector optimises the power to an entire site by reducing voltage and improving power quality: this improves the efficiency of electrical equipment.

The average voltage supply from the UK’s National Grid is often higher than the ideal operating voltage for most electrical equipment like lighting and motors. For example, a 230V linear appliance used on a 240V supply will take 4.3 per cent more current and will consume almost 9 per cent more electricity. Multiply that across all the appliances in your organisation and that soon adds up. Sites fitted with a powerPerfector system often achieve reductions in the region of 10-20% for energy consumption, costs and carbon emissions.*

Extend equipment life, too
powerPerfector units are installed on either the low voltage side of a transformer for a high voltage supply or after the meter for a low voltage supply. Voltage is optimised for the entire site, power quality improved, and the life of electrical equipment extended.

‘"To date, six installations have been completed and savings are on target to be above those initially predicted i.e. between 8% and 11%. Current estimates are that we will achieve savings of at least £500K per year in electricity costs and 475 tonnes of carbon per year, with some sites having the potential of up to 15% savings.

This project is delivering tangible results which will help Defra meet it SOGE targets. Our data and case studies will be made available to all other government departments."
