workshop

As of next April, there will be a legal requirement to rate all commercial buildings on their energy efficiency - even without the pressure from this new legislation it makes good fiscal and CSR sense to ensure that your company is not haemorrhaging carbon emissions and unnecessary energy costs. You can read almost daily that technology holds the key to these problems, but which technology and how, needless to say the powerPerfector team are committed to ensuring that no one is left in any doubt about the major contribution our VPO technology can achieve in this field.
Therefore, powerPerfector will be holding monthly workshops explaining "Voltage Optimisation and The Benefits" open to all interested parties.
These workshops will take place at our Praed Mews Offices in London on the second Wednesday of every month, the event will be free and include light refreshments.
Spaces will be limited to 30 to ensure there is plenty of time to cover specific issues.

I am now taking bookings for the third event which will be held on January 9th 2008
Please email your reservation request, for yourself or group of colleagues.

As yet another High Street Bank accepts that micro-managing power supply is a proven method of reducing energy cost and improving carbon management, we continue to provide an excellent ROI for the banking industry.
The five initial Barclays sites; Croydon, Peterborough, Woking, Nottingham, Leicester and Luton have all now been surveyed and show expected savings of up to 14.5%.
Installations will take place during November in time to take advantage of savings during the most expensive quarter of the year for energy costs, very prudent.
Updates on these sites as the pre and post evaluations become available.

wig and hammer
In one Northern Ireland Court House the seat of the Judicial system is getting perfected.
This week will see the installation of a pP210kVA unit with an -8% optimisation at our first Courthouse, and our first installation in Northern Ireland.
13% savings are expected and hard labour will be meted out if it isn't achieved, hardly cause for concern, with a life span of 30 years and a reputation for delivering the goods pP will be getting time off for good behaviour.

waterstone's the read
Click onto the Waterstone's web site and you can find at least 6 publications on 'Carbon Savings' along with countless others on 'How to live a more sustainably life', this company doesn't just sell the advise it actually puts it into practice.
Waterstone's the UK's leading High Street bookseller's are the first in this industry to be reducing their Carbon Emissions and improving their Energy Efficiency with our frontline approach to fighting C02.
I am sure it won't be long before others in this field follow the lead.

The first installation of a pP210kVA unit with a -8% optimisation to yield expected savings of 13% was installed on the 30th August this year at the London Gower Street branch.
As shown in the charts (see link to case study below), average consumption for the period since the powerPerfector was installed has been reduced by at least 16.3%, significantly exceeding the expected level of savings.
The data indicates a 17.3% reduction in average daily consumption following installation, along with a 15.7% reduction in average maximum demand and a 32.6% reduction in base load.

NOW THAT IS A GOOD READ.....

salix
Great news for those projects that just fell short of public funding from Salix Finance.
We have been informed of their decision to change their financing criteria from 0.43kg of CO2 emitted per kWh used to 0.523kg, which actually makes more projects qualify, especially schools.
It may be time to revisit your carbon/energy efficency management programme and enlist the help of Tanya or Ian in our Public Sector Team, they will be happy to calculate any changes for you.
The UK government will strengthen its draft Climate Change Bill to make it more effective, and look at the possibility of extending its targets for cutting greenhouse gases, said Environment Secretary Hilary Benn. Looks as if we are going to have to work even harder......

Following the initial coverage of VPO in January 2006 Energy World have decided to do a follow up article highlighting the ongoing success of the technology. Inside this November's issue of Energy World Magazine you will find an article covering 'Voltage Power Optimisation' explaining why it is several times more effective to optimise than simple voltage reduction. Those of you who are not members of the E.I. will be able to read the article next month when we add it to our website.

HURRAY - Finally a broad sheet has noticed us!! FT. (Property sector adapting to modern-day demands)

TESCO IRELAND
When Michael McNerney and his energy team were tasked with the responsibility of cutting carbon emissions and increasing energy efficiency within the Tesco portfolio he did not hesitate to install powerPerfector, and at what a no nonsense pace!!
13 units ranging in size from pP350kVA to pP740kVA were packed up and shipped to Ireland in late May, delivered to the various sites from Donegal to Kerry and Cork where they were installed and up and operating within a very impressive 3 weeks.
Just goes to show that when a win/win solution presents itself, it makes no sense to wait, delay is simply wasteful.
'Every little helps' though in this case we expect the savings to be pretty impressive.

'ROCK ON MICHAEL'
orangutan
Despite everything we are doing in the UK to address climate change, embracing renewable and sustainable sources of energy, there is and will continue to be little we are able to do ourselves to prevent the mass destruction of the habitats of many vulnerable species elsewhere in the world which clash with oil extraction and logging. A recent report has exposed the plight of some of our closest ancestors the primates, 25 species of which are close to extinction.
There are primate species on the edge of oblivion and, according to a report commissioned by three leading conservation charities, scores of others of our closest relatives are poised to suffer the same fate.

The 25 species most at risk include two of our closest great ape cousins, the Cross River gorilla of Cameroon and Nigeria and the orang-utan from Sumatra.
We can't do much on our own but signing up to the WWF is one way to help..

We would like to open up one of our workshops to college or university students, if this is an area you are involved in and you would like more information please do get in touch.

Top tip to keep warm this winter, find someone to hug.
