A 1.25MVA pP unit with an 9% optimisation was installed on
substation 2a transformer 7 on the 17th March this year. A full
report has been submitted and this indicates an average 12.5%
reduction on electricity consumption.
Colin Coupland of Dynex is delighted with the results and the decision has been taken to install another unit with the continued support of a Carbon Trust loan. |

All seats were taken for our second workshop, "The Frontline
Approach to C02" and it it was a fantastic event with
excellent Speakers, our thanks again to Graham Jennings for
providing us with an insight to the LCCA vision on how to combat
Climate Change and to Mark Hoult of Defra for sharing Best
Practise and the carbon reduction achievements so far within the
Defra Estate.
Music was provided by the 'Imperial College Quartet' and the afternoon finished with a great networking lunch.
IT HAS BEEN DECIDED THAT THE THIRD PP WORKSHOP IS TOO CLOSE TO
CHRISTMAS AND HAS NOW BEEN CHANGED TO THE 16TH JANUARY. MY
APOLOGIES FOR ANY DIARY CONFLICT.
WE STILL HAVE A FEW SPACES LEFT FOR THIS NEW DATE PLEASE BOOK IN BY EMAIL. |

The Bristol 600 Centre is a large Adult Community Care building
which provides both a day centre for people with disabilities
and a Training Centre for staff learning and development.
A 70kVA powerPerfector with a 9% optimisation setting was installed at The 600 Centre on 25th August 2007.
To ascertain the immediate effect of the installation of the
powerPerfector unit, we consider the electricity consumption one
month before and after installation, which is displayed in the
chart above. A reduction in average kWh consumption of 12.0% is
evident, combined with a reduction in maximum demand of 15.8%
and a reduction in base load of 11.0%.
All combining to create savings that can be better spent elsewhere. An excellent result for a centre offering a fantastic service to the local community. |

Last month we welcomed a vital element of our powerPerfector
"enquiry - installation" service to our Paddington office.
- THE CONTRACTORS - companies that have proven to be completely reliable with all the installations they have done. Mention must be made that both they and we understand that it is not "3 strikes and you are off the Approved List" but just 1. We need the best for you and they are the best so we thank them for giving our clients the same security and reliability of service that we offer, and do not think that they are just in the installation business - certainly not - as they are now introducing their clients to the opportunity to save money with our Voltage Power Optimisation technology. Now we have the "switched on" professionals extolling the virtue of powerPerfector for savings and security. Top contractors vet the technology they install in order to protect their clients just as hard as we vet anyone working with us to give you a seamless, worry free installation - so its great that we are now working with them in Partnership. Representatives from Blackbourne Electrical, Integral Services Ltd in particular our only lady present Karen Lilley, Freedom Network Solutions, J Brand Ltd, PSJ Fabrications, Barlows Electrical, CRF Group Plc, CT Jackson Ltd, DES Electrical Contractors UK Ltd, Groestar, MEC, RF Electrical Services, SCL Group, SJD Associates Ltd, Southern & Redfern Industrial Solutions, Tech Compliance Ltd, Freedom Network Solutions and METS were able to attend and their contribution to formulating 'Best Practise' was greatly appreciated.
After all, these are the men we entrust with our reputation and
your electrical supply.

With a proven efficiency rating of 99.9% and requiring NO
MAINTENACE it is all too easy to 'FIT AND FORGET' a
powerPerfector. We can't think of any other solution for
reliably reducing energy costs, with a 10 year guarantee, which
also protects your electrical infrastructure. What greater piece
of mind can we offer? powerPerfector already has no moving
parts, no maintenance, no sheduling powerdowns to service the
equipment.
So, although we can't sign you up to an expensive maintenance contract, we get our 'ADDED VALUE' knowing that our clients have peace of mind, not just through the life time of their Energy Programme but probably the life time of the building. Martin Illingworth Energy Manager, Land Registry "Following the extremely successful and problem free installation of powerPerfector at over 20 Land Registry buildings, I recently conducted a review of maintenance requirements to date and I am pleased to confirm that we still have not required any maintenance of the equipment and all sites are still able to demonstrate the significant impact the installation of this equipment has had in assisting the reduction in electricity consumption." |

Statistics released by DEFRA state that nationally 45% of
emissions are attributed to the industrial, commercial and
public sector sources and added that 'Action by local
authorities is crucial to the UK's efforts to cut carbon dioxide
emissions,'
I am therefore delighted to announce that more LA's are using pP technology as part of their carbon management programme with Worcestershire County Council being one of the latest to install units. Phil Harris CEng FCIBSE MIEE MEI MCMI MBIFM, Chief Engineer reports: "PowerPerfector's approved contractors IPT successfully installed two 1,000kVA powerPerfectors at Worcestershire County Council's County Hall campus in October 2007. This was a relatively complex and expensive installation due to the presence of twin HV feeders and transformers. Working with PowerPerfector and IPT, the Council's electrical engineers devised a schedule of switching operations which meant that the entire installation was completed with only a couple of two-minute out-of- hours power interruptions. Delivery of the pP units and materials was on time, the workmanship of the installers was first-rate, and the project proceeded exactly as planned. I cannot recommend IPT highly enough for their co-operation and quality of workmanship. No difference in performance has been noticed with the lighting, power and IT systems at the complex, which houses up to 1,600 employees, and the Council plans to increase the voltage optimisation to -9% shortly. We will be monitoring the effectiveness of the units, but already our colleagues in Finance are offering us substantial amounts of money to roll-out a programme of powerPerfector installations across the Council's corporate buildings. I anticipate installing a number of further powerPerfectors over the coming months, and we will also be recommending the technology to our schools as a cost-effective investment."
The powerPerfector ethos at every level is to provide an
unrivalled level of service addressing any issues promptly,
professionally and to the total satisfaction of our clients,
providing, we hope, a quality of service to match an excellent
product. It is important for us to know when we live up to the
commitment and equally for you to tell us if we do not.

Next week we will be welcoming to the powerPerfector offices
representatives from a major utility provider for what will be
three intensive days of presentations, site visits and knowledge
sharing.
powerPerfector are delighted to be working with energy providers as well as end users to create a brighter greener future. |
