workshop

We hit the ground running as the New Year kicked off with a phenomonal turnout for our first Workshop this year, seats are already being reserved for the next event on 5th March.
The rising energy prices along with predictions of even higher oil prices set against a backdrop of jitters in the financial world has focused everyone's efforts on energy efficiency and addressing unnecessary energy waste.
Attendees of the Workshop took away with them a clear vision of Voltage Optimisation's ability to help cut CO2 and kWh consumption.
A very big thank you to Richard Kent of Land Registry and Wayne Mitchell of British Energy for their presentations, as well as everyone who attended, we look forward to working with you in the future.

The solution to fluctuating voltage supply.
The pP-Plus is a new generation of voltage optimisation technology quietly introduced to the UK in mid 2006. The first unit was installed over 18 months ago in the London Borough of Havering and has produced savings in excess of 11.5% on a highly volatile middle voltage range supply.
In addition to the phase balancing, harmonic filtration and transient protection afforded by the pP, the pP-Plus features dynamic voltage optimisation, ensuring that equipment receives an efficient voltage regardless of the voltage supplied by the grid.
This technology does not supercede pP but offers a solution to businesses that are unsuited to standard voltage optimisation.

There will shortly be full technical data available on the web site, it will also be showcased in the next workshop and on display at NEMEX in May.
If you require answers now; please do not hesitate to call one of the pP team for the technical lowdown.
yen v pound

Not quite yet BUT the pound has dropped 8% in value against the Yen in 3 months !! So if we do not see an improvement by 31st March we will have no choice other than to raise our prices by 10% for all orders placed after April 1st, I'm afraid.

B & B image
A 420kVA Voltage Optimiser with a 9% optimisation setting was installed at British and Brazilian (formerly known as Frupac - part of Produce World), Peterborough, on 20th October 2007.
British and Brazilian produce Ltd are specialists in the supply of grapes, melons and stone fruits to leading supermarkets, food service companies and food processors here in the UK. The main electrical load is spread across refrigeration, conveyors and packaging machinery.
Analysis of the electricity consumption since the installation of the powerPerfector indicates that 16.% savings, exceeding the predictions of a more typically expected saving of 14.5%, are being made relative to previous consumption levels.
The powerPerfector is ensuring that the site operates with a high level of efficiency, as well as benefiting from improved power quality and protection against transients of up to 25kV.
the good news press
Another site exceeding expectations.
A 150kVA powerPerfector Voltage Power Optimiser with a 9% optimisation setting was installed at The Good News Press, Essex, on 8th September 2007. Optimising voltage by 9% ordinarily yields a 14.5% as perviously mentioned. As shown in the charts above, in this case average consumption for the period since the powerPerfector was installed has been reduced immediately by 15.1%, with savings of 18.5% evident from a longer-term analysis.

ALWAYS WORTH PRINTING GOOD NEWS...

The Learning Skills Council (LSC) launched a 20 million pound fund in December 2007 aimed at encouraging Further Education Colleges to implement energy efficiency and carbon reduction projects.
Applications for grants should be received by February the 29th 2008 for first stage and are available for projects up to £150,000 that produce energy/carbon savings over a 5 year period.

We are currently assisting 20 FE Colleges through the application process and have a team fast tracking these enquires in order to ensure the dead line is met.
If you are involved in an energy programme which you think may qualify please click on the link below for more grant information, good luck with your application.
alex 2
Obviously we had to find a sport with the lowest possible carbon footprint.
Therefore we are delighted to announce that we are sponsoring a talented young british cyclist who is determined to make a name for himself on the international circuit.
Former multi-national junior champion, 20 year old Alex Atkins has recently signed for top Belgian team, Yawadoo - ABM - TV Vlaanderen. Returning to full time cycling after studying at University and racing in England, Alex will compete in a quality race program in Belgium, France and Holland.
The opportunity for Alex to train and race in Belgium for the 2008 season comes from the result of a personal sponsorship deal from PowerPerfector and we will be commenting on his progress throughout the coming season.
We now have a list of powerPerfected clients who are happy to arrange site visits and discuss their pP experience. Should you feel that seeing a unit in operation would be beneficial please ring me and I will arrange a visit.

PENGUIN AND BEAR
It seems these icons of the world's coldest places face an extremely tough battle to survive the unprecedented rate of climate change affecting their environment.
Our hope for this New Year is that the agreements made in Bali will herald a more aggressive approach by all the industrial nations to cutting carbon emissions.
We will all be accountable to future generations and they will ask "why didn't they do something to help save our environment?"
