workshop small

The last three months have been a veritable road show for the powerPerfector team with presentations all over the country, covering Scotland through to Somerset and zig zagging the breadth of the UK in between. We have exhibited and presented at Nemex, the SEI Energy Show in Ireland the 'Environment and Energy' Conference in London and in the New Epic Centre at the Lincolnshire Show.
We have sponsored and presented at six ESTA Workshops, been involved in the 'Low Carbon Forum' at London's Olympia on the 26th along with a two day event for Debut Services in Taunton.
All this on top of our own highly successfull Workshop events here at Paddington, which have benefited from consistently excellent guest speakers, most recently Jeff Walker of the Tower of London and Mike Pool of British Energy.
We are working hard to ensure that the powerPerfector message is heard because we know that once it is understood the next step to installing the technology is compelling.
The integration of powerPerfector's Voltage Optimisation into a client's electricity supply is a sea change to traditional thinking. Voltage Optimisation is now considered the frontline approach to addressing the waste of over- voltage to an entire site, with one installation all your electrical equipment could be operating close to its designed optimum and protected from transients.
With the current continued rise of energy prices is there anyone left who can afford not to cut costs 'at source' of supply?

school sign
Finally we have a case study for a school. Now that's not because we aren't installing in many schools, its purely the 'nature of the beast'.
What with the long school holidays and short school day, (oh, I remember them well,) collecting the data takes place over a much longer period. Patience has finally paid off and the results are now available on our website.

Carbon Trust
Do you qualify?
If you are not sure we are more than happy to assist you in finding out.
This is a fantastic inititive from the government to help SME's take that step towards increased energy efficiency and not enough companies are taking advantage of it.
We now have several successful CT funded clients and would love to see more, the only reason we can see that there aren't more, is that you just don't know that you may qualify.
Please feel free to ask for details from our private sector team and they will help steer you through the process, you may find that you don't have to finance your powerPerfector and its installation after all.
Call now and talk to one of the team, you may get a pleasant surprise.
carr

Carrs Volkswagen in Indian Queens in Cornwall is the first UK car showroom to install a powerPerfector. Employing 55 staff in its two showrooms and two car workshops.
The main electrical load is made up of lighting circuits, heating for the showrooms, compressors and vehicle lifts for the workshops.
On 3rd Feb a 105kVapP unit was installed with an -8% optimisation resulting in the following savings;
14,114kg CO2 p.a., 9.3% in average daily kWh consumption, and savings of £2,234 p.a.

"I found powerPerfector efficient, and easy to deal with and most important of all, the kit really does reduce out bills." Jon Keast, Carrs Volkswagen
david middleton

We are particularly pleased to announce that David Middleton, previously of British Energy, has joined the company as a member of the Management Team.
David has undertaken a wide variety of roles within the electricity industry over the last 22 years and comes with a wealth of experience in distribution, contract management, project development, trading and supply. He is a true "Electricity Industry man" and a very important appointment for the company's future development and expansion.

We are continuing to strengthen the powerPerfector teams across the board. New Energy Consultants, Engineers and Office Management are now contributing to the support and service we are committed to provide to our clients.
kaysersberg small
Kaysersberg Plastics is a world-class manufacturer of plastic sheet and finished plastic products and have manufacturing sites in France, Spain and the UK. They provide plastic in two main ways: either as sheets for resale or conversion, or as finished plastic products.
Three powerPerfector units have been installed on transformers at Kaysersberg's Gloucester site over the past two years. The initial trial 560kVA in April 2006 proved a success so the second and third a 420kVA and another 560kVA were installed in July 2007.

"The installation was carried out over a weekend, without the two rather obvious green cabinets we wouldn't have known the installation team had been in at all. They were prompt, got on with the work and left the factory cleaner than when they arrived. We had no problems starting up following the installation, but did have a small issue with one of our compressors (the supplier had to change a setting, it's fine now). We are now really starting to see the benefits of our investment, we are receiving savings of approximately 10%. The units will have paid for themselves within two and half years."
Nearly a year on, factoring in the current higher energy prices, these units will be paid for a lot quicker.
ppPlus

Making its debute at NEMEX this year was the pP-Plus, this technology is designed specifically for specialist applications, namely those involving fluctuating voltage supply.
The pP-Plus in its very shiny green box attracted a fair amount of attention, though it was not quite able to upstage the pP560 unit.

The GreenGauge was also on display at the show, clocking up all those fantastic pP savings, and I am pleased to annouce that several clients will shortly be displaying their own pP savings on their websites or at their offices.

If you are interested in installing the GreenGauge please call for details.
HAVERING
Some official recognition (NEMEX) for a technology which has already proved its place in the market. The only reason pP-Plus has been something of a wall flower is that the market demand is not as pressing.
In real terms 95% of the market will still continue to be catered for by our standard pP units.
One of our first pP-Plus installations took place at Havering Town Hall back in early 2006 and has quietly, efficiently provided a consistent voltage ensuring that the electrical infrastructure on site works efficiently and closer to its designed optimum whilst also providing the following savings; 11.5% reduction in electrical consumption, 11.5%reduction in CO2 emissions, 15.8% reduction in average maximum demand.

Mark Lowers, London Borough of Havering Energy Management Officer
"From the post installation monitoring we have carried out ourselves, I can say that the powerPerfector does what it says on the tin. The achieved carbon dioxide reductions, along with the financial savings, makes this a quick win investment for the Council. Installation was relatively painless thanks to the involvement of a powerPerfector engineer and their contractors. The only minor problem was selecting a 'shut down day' to suit our IT people. After the installation and optimisation everything worked normally. We will be installing further units in our suitable buildings in the future."
Sports Relief and Cancer Research are our chosen charities this year and will be benefitting from an extra £1000 donatation from our competition in April. The prize money will be divided between the two charities.
More charitable donations have been made to Samantha and Julia, of our Private sector team, who ran very respectable times to complete aThe London 'Race for Life' event raising just short of £2000 for Cancer Research.
Thirty of the best amateur riders lined up for the start of the Derny race in Hulshout. There were three individual heats round the 250m outdoor tarmac track with each rider being paced behind a motorbike. After a spell of rain the track was damp for the final, but this didn't stop riders averaging speeds of 60km/hr for the 60km race. Alex started off well and was at the front of the race with 5 riders but his motorbike punctured. After a couple of laps out of the race, he rejoined the race in the same position getting behind a spare motorbike on the track and passed a couple of riders to successfully close on 3rd position in the final lap to claim a podium spot.
Alex has 2 team road races this weekend of 160km and we wish him the best of luck.
All the powerPerfected, you really are making an impact and it's getting noticed.

This September we are planning a special event to celebrate all the fantastic projects we are involved in. Hopefully we will be able to gathering together all the powerPerfected, so if you are a member of this special Club - expect an invitation shortly.

A Labour politician once said 'squeeze the rich till the pips squeak,' well everyone is squeaking these days. Across the industrial, commercial and domestic markets the meteoric price rise of electricity, gas and oil is taking its toll. The next two years will see the most pro- active, leanest and greenest businesses being better placed to avoid the damaging effects on profitability of the continued energy price rises. Energy efficiency is no longer optional - it's now crucial.
