As the days shorten and the heating comes on, it heralds the most expensive energy quarter for most businesses, couple this with the increased pressure to address carbon emissions, there is then a requirement in all sectors for an innovative solution to tackle both, Voltage Power Optimisation is the answer.
Enquiries for our technolgy has drawn our attention to an element of confusion with regard to the important difference between voltage power optimisation and voltage reduction, they are not the same thing.
For those who would like a little extra reading, (see quick links) a recent article in Edie.net's Special Energy Report 'Cutting Waste at Source' covers optimisation quite succinctly.
For those who would like news on the powerPerfected, read on........
trelleborg building
Trelleborg is a global industrial group with annual sales of 24 Billion SEK, and 22,000 employees in 40 countries.
Primary client groups are areospace, agriculture and automative.
To offer their clients the highest quality and competitive prices they continuously develop cost efficiency, with constant reviews of such areas as purchasing, processes, production and now, with ever increasing energy costs, energy efficiency.
With their characteristic ability to identify new solutions to complex problems, they contacted powerPerfector.
We were asked to assess their IAVS site to evaluate the benefits our technology would provide.
After the free site evaluation and analysis of electrical data provided by the client's electrical suppliers a report was submitted, further to which, Trelleborg installed a 2MVA powerPerfector unit.
Analysis of the half hourly data for August and September 2006 provided by the client, shows that the powerPerfector is delivering savings of 12% to 15% on electricity consumption, in addition the Maximum Demand has been reduced by approximately 10%.
We calculate that this represents a financial saving for one month of over £9,900 and a reduction in carbon emissions of over 53 tonnes.

'The installation of the powerPerfector unit has been an undoubted success and has helped in driving the business forward in terms of reducing carbon emissions/cost and enabling the business to meet its environmental objectives for 2006.'
Richard Kenyon, UK Plant Manager

fitness first
Eat more than the body needs we have obesity, draw more voltage than a building needs we have financial and carbon waste.
In September 2005 Fitness First became the largest Health Club Group in the world with 424 clubs and over 1.1 million members.
Fitness First creates an environment for their members designed to help them maximize their assets; it is only good fiscal sense that the club does the same with its own.
Cutting waste at source is an essential first step in an energy efficiency programme, and, one that will no doubt help keep this dynamic group in a healthy market position.
The first three units have been installed, with savings in excess of 13% on energy costs and carbon emissions reported.

Our report of the confirmed savings was formally presented to Christopher Silcox of the Estates Management Group this month and he was kind enough to comment.

'We are delighted that the predicted savings of 13% were exceeded (to 16%) giving annual savings in excess of £15,000 and reducing carbon emissions by over 125,000kg. Given the importance of security of supply at this critical site, we can report that the installation was professionally conducted and the working of the site has been perfect. In light of the success of the powerPerfector we are looking to install units in our other sites around the region. For us powerPerfector has been the single most effective energy efficiency measure we have introduced.'

brewery
When William Robinson bought the Unicorn Inn back in September 1838 he was establishing a company that was to become one of Britain’s largest regional brewers with an estate of over 400 houses.
The brewery now has a state of the art bottling facility which operates a continuous round the clock process that begins 7am Monday morning through to Friday evening, this meant a substantial rise in energy demand for the whole site.
Getting a cap on energy costs is essential to enable continued growth and as part of the ongoing investment in the company a pP-210kVA powerPerfector unit has been purchased to assist in the process of energy efficiency.
With predicted savings of 14.5% in energy costs and a reduction in carbon emission of 28067 kgs per annum. With such a forward thinking approach to all aspects of its operations Robinsons is well placed to continue its success story in the future.

RBS
RBS, Graham Wood Structural, 3M, KPMG, Tate, Thameside Metropolitan, Dynex Semiconductors, Earthtech Engineering,Taylor Bloxham, and Road Chef along with instructions from Wigan County Council, to install a pP-420kVA and pP-280kVA powerPerfector unit.
All are new powerPerfector investors who's case studies we will be reporting in our next Newsletters or on our website.

Kofi Annan has criticized ‘the frightening lack of leadership’ in dealing with climate change during the UN Summit in Nairobi. Deals have been reached on many of the issues, but delegates have failed to agree a timetable for the completion of discussions on globally binding emission cuts beyond the existing Kyoto Protocol targets. It makes you wonder if any of them read the Stern Report, where’s the sense of urgency?
While we wait for the conculsions, we can, as individuals, all start reducing our own carbon footprint, many in the Corporate and Public sectors already are.
Let's not wait for more disasters or punitive taxes for our behavior to change for the collective good, lets aim for Carbon Neutrality, and make 'No Action' the new 'Crime Against Humanity'

Welcome to three new members of staff who have joined the team at W2. Steven Lee BEng(Hons) BSc (Hons), Ian Goddard BSc(Hons) and Ian Gould Econ. Fin BA(Hons), in positions of Logistics, and Consultancy.

As a footnote:
Despite the incredible rise in world copper prices, we will be holding our prices until 31st December 2006

Sincerely,

Kimberley Webster
